Combining Brick and Stone for Pavement

by Margaret Fathi

I am trying to save some money and wondered if the two types of stones would look OK together. As you'll see in the pix, I have a large area that I want to will in with more "stones". No time for all that weeding! The irregular shaped stones (Lowe's $5 a piece!) are expensive. I was wondering if I could border the whole area with 2 rows of rectangular bricks (thinner than normal bricks) which are only ~ $.84 a piece. Would it look OK?

I think it would look great, and the contrast would provide visual interest. I say go for it!
